Biography
Brian Bartlett has published 8 collections and 8 chapbooks of poetry, as well as 4 books of prose, from presses such as Goose Lane, Gaspereau, McGill-Queens, Ekstasis, Palimpsest, Frontenac House and (in England) Peterloo Poets. Three of his chapbooks and one of his collections are of haiku and senryu. After growing up in New Brunswick, he lived for 15 years in Montreal, then moved to Halifax to teach Creative Writing and various fields of literature at Saint Mary's University, from which he retired in 2018 after 28 years of teaching there. Bartlett's prose includes 3 books of nature writing and one of his writings on poetry. Bartlett has also edited many books, including three volumes in Porcupine's Quill's "Essential" series, a book of prose on Don McKay, and Alden Nowlan's Collected Poems.
