Biography
Lindsay Soberano Wilson is a Pushcart Prize Nominee for Poetry for the poem "The Japanese Red Maple" in Hoods of Motherhood: A Collection of Poems (Prolific Pulse Press LLC, 2023, her debut full length book.
In Hoods of Motherhood: A Collection of Poems, Lindsay Soberano Wilson, a first-generation Jewish Canadian granddaughter of Romanian Holocaust survivors and Spanish Moroccan immigrants, compiles a bittersweet portrayal of becoming a mother.
From the highs and lows of recurrent miscarriages to contending with c-section shame, to larger issues such as intergenerational trauma, and everyday issues like breastfeeding, Soberano-Wilson's first full book of poetry, is relatable, lyrical, and confessional with evocative imagery, allusions, wordplay, rhyme, and rhythm.
Recent publications include Fine Lines Literary Journal and Fevers of the Mind 8: Inspire Me.
She is excited to announce that her second collection of poems is forthcoming, entitled BREAKING UP WITH THE COBALT BLUES: Poems For Healing (2024) with Prolific Pulse Press!
Lindsay's second poetry book explores mental health and finds peace in painful, messy, shameful parts of life unearthed at inconvenient times. The lyrical poems, shed light on hard truths, suicide, abuse, intergenerational trauma, addiction, and grief with the message of resilience to “dance through the dark.”
As the creator/editor of Put It To Rest, a mental health online literary magazine, she believes in writing poetry and personal essays to put personal stories to rest.
Her hybrid poetry chapbook, Casa de mi Corazón: A Travel Journal of Poetry and Memoir (Poetica Publishing, 2021), explores how her sense of community, Jewish Canadian identity, and home was shaped by travel to Israel, Morocco, and Western Europe.
Her poetry and non-fiction have appeared in Jewish Women of Words, Embrace of Dawn, Woman Made Gallery virtual exhibit, Poetry 365, Fevers of the Mind, PoetryPause, Quills Erotic Canadian Poetry Magazine, Canadian Woman Studies Journal, Running with Scissors, Fresh Voices, and Poetica Magazine.
