Biography
After receiving a B.A. (Honours) and B.Ed. (Honours) from Queen's University, Amy continued her creative writing studies at McMaster University and the University of Toronto. She received her M.F.A. through the University of British Columbia before attending Harvard University. In addition to publications in England and France, Amy Dennis' poetry has appeared in more than twenty Canadian literary publications, such as CV2, Event, Queen's Quarterly, and Prairie Fire. Her poetry has been nominated for two National Magazine Awards and a Random House Creative Writing Award. She placed second in the U.K.’s National Bedford Open Poetry Competition. Publications include a children's book (Potlatch Publications), chapbook (above/ground press), and a forthcoming poetry collection (Mansfield Press). Amy completed her Ph.D. with distinction on ekphrastic poetry and new confessionalism. Currently, she works as a professor, author, and Learning Facilitator, and plans to resume work in expressive arts therapy.

International bookings
My international experience includes teaching art, writing, and English in Japan (elementary and secondary schools), teaching ESL methodology, writing, and art in China (Suzhou University), as well as teaching Creative Writing at the undergraduate as well as Masters' level in Wales, United Kingdom (Aberystwyth University). I am willing to travel outside of Canada for further teaching opportunities. Within Canada, I have also worked in expressive arts therapies.
